SHORT SUMMARY
The children novel, Skellig is seen through the eyes of a ten-year-old boy named Michael. Michael’s family move houses but as soon as they move homes, the baby (which is not named until the end of the book) was born premature and is struggling to live. This causes stress and problems for the family and soon Michael begins to get rejected hence starts to feel like the odd one out and the last thing he needs is finding a dead human in his poor excuse of garage and just as things couldn’t get worse, the ‘dead human’ is not exactly ‘dead’ or ‘human’.
He dares not to tell anyone about his findings other than to a girl called Mina; a mysterious, free spirited and home-schooled girl who is his next-door neighbour. Together, Mina and Michael then form a friendship based on birds, William Blake and the mysterious 'dead human' in Michaels garage.
